The Oswego boys golf team lost to a strong Liverpool team on Friday by one, narrow stroke (205-206) at Liverpool Country Club. The loss was a difficult one for the boys, but it did not come without some fine individual effort from golfing Bucs.
Junior captain Corey Schuffenecker captured medalist honors for the third time in four matches this year, firing a 37 on the front nine at Liverpool. Schuffenecker leads the team in stroke average through four matches and is off to a great start in 2008.
Sophomore Austin Tracz, new to the Buc team this year, had his best showing of the season, touring the nine holes in a score of 39. Austin carded two birdies during his round. Also scoring for the Bucs were team members Scott Quenville (41), Matt Lloyd (44), and John Gorman (45).
The Bucs hope to get back to winning on Wednesday when they host West Genesee at Oswego Country Club.
