Megan Schumacher is the American Red Cross of Central New York – Oswego Branch Dunkin Donuts Volunteer of the Month for February. Meg has been with the Red Cross as an intern for the last four weeks. Since she has been with the Red Cross she has seen how the organization works with outside agencies to prepare and respond with disaster. She had the chance to see and help with case files and has begun working on reports and spreadsheets collected from case files. She was attracted to the opportunities that the Red Cross provides individuals with to help within their community and to help their country in times of disaster.
The most rewarding experience since she has been with the Red Cross is the stories. Each individual comes with their own story and they each share their own experiences and how they have been able to help those in need.
Meg feels that anyone looking to reach out a hand that she would strongly recommend the American Red Cross. She has learned so much about herself and what kind of person she wants to become through only a glimpse into the Red Cross efforts. Meg praises the organization that never leaves when there is still someone who needs help.
Meg grew up just outside of Niagara Fallsand is now a senior at SUNY Oswego in the Public Justice Department. She is also a member of the Greek organization and has worked along with other community service efforts including, Adopt a Grandparent, Toys for Tots and has worked to raise awareness for the National Kidney Foundation.
Congratulations to Meg for being our Dunkin Donuts Volunteer of the Month for February!!!!
