Scott P. “Scooter” Cannova, 50


Scott P. “Scooter” Cannova, 50, a resident of Co Rt. 7, Oswego, passed away December 20, 2010 at home.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Pasquale Cannova and Hazel (Harrington) Cannova of Hannibal.

He attended Albany State and Oswego State and a Massage School in Syracuse.

Scotty worked at the Mustard Seed in Oswego and the Green Planet Grocery Store in Syracuse.

He previously worked for Jay Sea Distributing and owned a Gym business from 1979 through 1991 called the Body Shop Health Studio.

Scooter enjoyed softball and was a member of its Hall of Fame. He served as Treasurer for the Men’s Softball Board for over 15 years.

He was a car and truck enthusiast and enjoyed owning antique ones. Scott was a 3-time power lifting State Champion and holds State and National Records.

He also spent time as a personal trainer, collecting memorabilia and worked at the Oswego Softball Complex for 3 years.

Surviving beside his mother, are a brother, David (Amy) Cannova of Hannibal; two nephews, Curtis P. Cannova and Colton Jay Cannova; a niece, Cayla L. Cannova.

Funeral Services will be held 10a.m. Friday at the Oswego Alliance Church. Spring burial will be in Fairdale Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 1-4p.m. and 6-8p.m. Thursday at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St. Oswego.
