Sea Cadets Hold Graduation Ceremony

The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corp Truxtun DDG-103 Division held it graduation ceremony Sunday June 15th.

Three Sea Cadets were discharged with high recognition of their accomplishments.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Brandon Merritt of Penneville will be reporting to the US Naval Academy at Annapolis Maryland on July 2Nd as a midshipman to begin his Naval Career. Petty Officer 2nd class Joshua Pilon of Oswego was also recognized for his accomplishments, as he will be heading to Mohawk Valley Community College in August 2008. Kayla De Rocha of Hannibal was also recognized and will be attending Ohio State this fall.

Two recruits were promoted to Seaman Apprentice, Kasandra Fisher of Oneida, New York, and Kayleigh Thurston of Auburn New York.

Lieutenant Commander Robert K. Ramstad, the commanding officer of the Truxtun Division on behalf of the division mentioned how proud the division was concerning these young cadets, and wished them well in all their future endeavors. Ramstad also recognized the outstanding cadet of the quarter for their dedicated efforts for the division, Sea Cadet Seaman Recruit Kayla De Rocha. He also recognized the Officer of the Quarter , LCDR Peggy Farnsworth.
