OSWEGO – U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has announced her endorsement of Amy Tresidder for mayor of the city of Oswego, emphasizing Tresidder’s years of experience as a county legislator and her record of fighting for Oswego families.

“Amy Tresidder has proven her commitment to working tirelessly to better the lives of Oswego families. She has shown bold leadership in the Oswego County Legislature and will bring this record of positive leadership to the mayor’s office,” said Senator Gillibrand. “I’m proud to endorse Amy Tresidder for Mayor of Oswego.”

Gillibrand’s endorsement puts her on a growing list of current and former New York State leaders who have backed Tresidder in the mayoral race, including former Congressman Bill Owens and Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner.

“I’m honored to have Senator Gillibrand’s support,” said Tresidder. “I’m proud that she recognizes how hard I have fought on behalf of Oswego taxpayers during my years in the county legislature. As mayor, I will keep working just as hard to provide independent, accountable, and steady-handed leadership for Oswego’s families and businesses.”

If elected on Tuesday, Tresidder, a 30-year resident of Oswego, would be the first female mayor in the city’s history.

  1. After seeing her in the debates I will not vote for her.
I tried to imagine how she would respond around a conference table with persons who might bring industry or commerce to our city. If she talks with those important contacts, as she did during that debate, I doubt if she would be successful in her conversations or convince them to invest in Oswego. It will just be all fluff, like it was the other night. No, I can’t vote for her.

  2. June—

That will be too bad; Amy is reflective in her conversations; do not judge her just on her speech delivery; contrast her with her apponent and I am sure you can re-think your position and vote for her.
