Senior Night Is A Great Night For Oswego Tennis

Senior Night was spectacular for Oswego.

Sunny but cool weather brought many cheering fans to motivate the Lady Bucs to a 6-1 victory over Henninger.

Jesse Lalande was cheered by her teammates and fans in a three set match against Maurisha Knighton. She was down 2-0 in the third set when she took charge and never lost another game. Senior Mariah LaLonde also played and won her match with Meghan Kelly at third doubles against Cookie Brown and Pricilla Kabba. The first set was a thriller with the Oswego duo coming back from a 4-1 deficit to win 7-5. The second set was won easily 6-0.

Coach Andrea DeSantis said, “All the girls played hard and tried their best tonight even though it was very cold during the last matches. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful night to celebrate our seniors though. They are two unique young ladies that have many talents. They have set high goals for themselves and have the ambition and desire to achieve them. They will truly be missed next year.”

In other action Lindsay Rose defeated Kayla Grant 6-3, 6-2 while the Bucs Dominique Canale lost to Joselyn Capes 6-2, 6-2.

Jillian Doty and Marissa Canale defeated Aurelia Hayduke and Eva Bouchard 6-1, 6-2 while Lauren Usherwood and Chandler Caroccio defeated Tenia Taylor and Nickey Sereluca 6-2, 6-4. Katherine Irwin and Michelle Stepien defeated Angela Lefler and Michelle Thomas 6-0, 6-3
