Sheriff’s Office: 10/6/09


On 10/2/09 at 3:10 p.m., Joshua D. Stearns, 20, of 1228 CR 1, Oswego, NY was operating a 2000 Oldsmobile reportedly stopped in front of 1228 CR 1 to make a left hand turn into a private driveway, when he was rear ended by a 2005 West tractor trailer being driven by Kyle J. Trumble, 22, of 564 Harvester Mill Rd., Redfield, NY and registered to Great Lakes Veneer of Oswego, NY which caused Mr. Stearns vehicle to veer south off of CR 1 and strike two mailboxes. Mr. Trumble was ticketed for Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent.

On 10/3/09 at 12:20 p.m., Daniel G. Clark, 23, and Vanessa L. Clark, 23, of East 8th Street, Bldg# 177, Oswego, NY were arrested on four counts of Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor following the investigation into gas drive offs at a Town of Scriba business during the month of August 2009. Mr. and Ms. Clark were released on appearance tickets, returnable to the Town of Scriba Court on 10/8/09.

On 10/3/09 at 2:15 p.m., Thomas R. Covino, 57, of 49 Halsey Rd., Pulaski, NY was arrested for Suspended Registration (on 5/21/09 due to insurance lapse), a misdemeanor following a traffic stop on SR 13 in the Town of Richland after the LPR unit alerted. Mr. Covino was issued a UTT, returnable to the T/O Richland Court on 10/19/09.

On 10/3/09 at 9:15 p.m., Bernard J. Reschke, 25, of 158 Halsey Rd., Mexico, NY was arrested for Suspended Registration (for insurance lapse on 9/2/09)), a misdemeanor following a traffic stop on Main St. in the Village of Mexico after the LPR unit alerted. Mr. Reschke was issued a UTT, returnable to the T/O Mexico Court on 10/20/09.

On 10/5/09, Stanley E. DeGroff IV, 18, of 745 County Route 21, Hannibal, NY was arrested at 3:20 p.m. for Falsely Reporting an Incident, Third Degree and False Written Statement, both class a misdemeanors stemming from the investigation into an incident which reportedly took place on 9/30/09 at a Town of Hannibal residence. Mr. DeGroff IV was released on appearance tickets, returnable to the T/O Hannibal Court on 10/20/09.
