Shirley A. LaFave, 72, of Oswego, New York, died December 1, 2010, at
St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, New York, after a brief illness.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Nancy
Throughout the years, she worked for Breneman Shade Cloth Factory,
Knight Transportation Trucking, and at Meaney Sand & Gravel for 20
years. She was a faithful communicant of St. Louis Church and a choir
member there for many years.
Surviving are a daughter, Nanette LaFave of Oswego; three brothers,
John Saltalamachia, Bart Saltalamachia and Joseph (Kathy)
Saltalamachia, all of Oswego; three sisters, Mary (Larry) Taormina of
Oswego, Lucy Woodard of Oswego, and Jane (Robert) Wedge of Port
Orange, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived
by her “adopted” daughter, Deborah (Donald) Morgan, of Hannibal,
grandsons Dustin and Douglas Morgan, of Hannibal and one granddaughter
and her family, Cheryl (Brian) Sisson, of Fairport, New York.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Angeline Stevens, in 2007, Anna
Pacific, in 2008, Nancy Saltalamachia, in 2004, and one brother, James
Patrick Saltalamachia, in 1976.
There will be no calling hours.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Church, 178 West Second St. Oswego. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
