FULTON, NY – Another full musical production launches this week at CNY Arts Center with auditions for “Narnia,” on Jan. 21 from 5:30 to 8:30 and Jan. 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Ages 7 to adult can audition for this one with roles for 2 boys, 2 girls, 6 men, and 4 to 6 women.
Actors should come prepared with a song and to read from the script.
Callbacks will be held Jan. 25 from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.
The musical is based on C.S. Lewis’ The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and features a large cast. Amy Price (Willy Wonka, Jr) directs the production with the largest artistic staff to date for a CNY Arts Center production.
“Chronicles of Narnia is by far my favorite collection of stories and this will be the fourth time I’ve directed The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” Price said. “It is the first time for the musical version and I am excited to begin work bringing the magical Narnia to life. It’s a priceless story about forgiveness and sacrifice that we all need to hear.”
Working with Price will be several familiar names returning from Willy Wonka, Jr including Gina Holsopple as music director, Adam Schmidtmann as assistant director and Nellica Rave as costume designer.
Also returning from recent CNY Arts Center productions are Marguerite Beebe as lighting designer and Steve Beebe as lighting technician, Matthew Wood as scenic artist/graphic artist, Garrett Robinson as sound engineer and Ashley Murtha as makeup artist.
New to the production staff are Chris Metz as stage manager/props master and Nelson Metz as master carpenter.
The production will run April 17 through 26 at the Arts Center’s new location in River Glen Plaza on the CCC Fulton Campus.
