Show Your Gratitude to Veterans during 33rd Annual Memorial Day Salute

FULTON, NY – With only two more weeks until the 33rd annual Memorial Day Salute, CNY Arts Center is looking for help to express gratitude to veterans and service personnel when they host a talent show tribute onstage May 24 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

“We hope to gather unique symbols of gratitude through pictures, letters, poems and especially talents to perform onstage, read a poem, sing a song, or tell a story, dance; whatever expression of gratitude we can create,” said Nancy Fox, director. “We know there is a lot of talent out there. Memorial Day Salute is a popular tradition for local families and here is a way to be directly involved, show our gratitude to veterans and share our talent with hometown family and friends. We are inviting local school children to share their own salute to veterans and military personnel. With this year’s theme ‘Showing Gratitude to our veterans’ it’s a perfect opportunity to show appreciation. Everyone from the youngest to the oldest can get involved – send a message of thanks or deliver it in person onstage.  Items collected will be donated to a veteran’s organization after the event.”

Artwork, poems, and written tributes of thanks will be on display and shared throughout the talent show between acts.

Artwork will be accepted at Arts in the Heart Gallery, 47 S First St in Fulton.

Messages or written tributes should be mailed to CNY Arts Center, PO Box 477, Fulton NY 13069.

Participants interested in performing should contact Fox directly at 592-3373.
