Shuman, Pitcher Join Front Row for Saturday’s Fall Frenzy 200 at Oswego Kartway

OSWEGO, NY – As Saturday’s second annual RJ Kart Sales Fall Frenzy 200 inches closer at Oswego Kartway, DJ Shuman and Shannon Pitcher will join Chris Natoli and Ricky Pritchard as front row starters for their respective 100-lap mains this weekend which will pay a minimum of $500 to each winner.

Pitcher drove his No. 714 to victory in Clone Heavy last Friday over top contenders Nick Demling, DJ Shuman, Ron Ingison, and rapidly improving rookie Trevor Bellinger.

A total of 12 Clone Heavy racers took to the Kartway Friday in search of the Frenzy’s final guaranteed position.

With the victory, Pitcher will now join Pritchard as guaranteed front row starters for the Clone Heavy 100 finale on Saturday, with the faster of the two drivers in time trials starting on the pole position.

Dick Dann, Justin Crandall, Jamie Shutts, Andy Jankowiak, and Nate Schultzkie filled the top ten positions.

Natoli went back to back in Stock Heavy on Friday, earning another Fall Frenzy qualifier victory, meaning runner-up finisher DJ Shuman would grab the final guaranteed front row starting spot for the Stock Heavy 100 coming up Saturday.

Like Clone Heavy, the faster of Natoli and Shuman in Stock Heavy time trials this weekend will start on the pole position for the 100.

Rob Eastman, Jake Sivers, and Jason Farrell were the top five finishers with Crandall, Schultzkie, Alyssa Swartz, and Demling filling out the nine kart field.

Other Fall Frenzy qualifying night winners included Teddy Clayton (Jr. Green Clone), Alex Losurdo (Jr. Blue Clone), Logan Abbott (Sr. Green Clone), Madison Baum (Jr. Purple Clone), Natoli (Stock Light), Josh Ostrander (Sr. Blue Clone), Scott Baum (Clone 425), Schultzkie (Clone Light), Paul Fountaine (Stock 425), Rich Jordal/John Stepien (Open), and Tim Merritt (Champ).

The Kartway returns to action Saturday with the second annual RJ Kart Sales Fall Frenzy 200 championships.

Entry fees for the Stock Heavy 100 and Clone Heavy 100 will be the following.

Oswego Kartway member entry fees for each class are $50.  Non Oswego Kartway member entry fees for each class are $60.  Pit passes for the driver are included in the entry fee in each case.

A 70% payback on the entries will be paid out, on top of the guaranteed $500 to win in each division.  If there are 19 or fewer entries, the top three finishers will be paid.  If there are 20 or more entries the top five will be paid.

Bonuses of $100 are also being awarded for the fast time and halfway leaders in each division from Burris Racing Tire, GS Steamers Bar and Grill, Gioia Signs, and Bosco and Geers Food Market.

Time trials will set the front ten starting spots in both the Clone Heavy 100 and the Stock Heavy 100.  A B-Main will be contended to set the final two karts in the 12-kart starting lineups.

Entry fees for the non-money classes will be as follows, with the top three in each division racing for beautiful plaques from Platinum Promotional.

Oswego Kartway member entries will be set at $20 while non-member entry fees are $23, with pit passes included.  Pit passes will also be available for spectators for $15.

Non money classes will see their heat lineups determined by their qualifying night points.  Most points will start on pole.

Feature lineups will be set by heat race finishes, winner on pole position.

Pit gates will open Saturday at 3 p.m. with pre-tech set to begin at 4 p.m.

Saturday’s drivers meeting will be held at 5:15 p.m. with hot laps at 5:45 p.m. and time trials for Clone Heavy at 6:15 p.m.

As always spectators are welcome to come to the Kartway and enjoy the racing action with a full concession stand available. Spectator admission is just $5 per car load.
