Soldiers receive new rank, new responsibilities

LATHAM, NY – Major General Patrick A. Murphy, The Adjutant General for the State of New York, announces the promotion of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their capabilities for additional responsibility and leadership.

Valerie Fagnan from Phoenix, N.Y. (postal code 13135) and serving with the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team is promoted to the rank of Private.

Dana Syrell from Fairhaven, N.Y. (postal code 13064) and serving with the Company A (Distribution), 427th Brigade Support Battalion is promoted to the rank of Specialist.

Travis Muhlnickel from Cato, N.Y. (postal code 13033) and serving with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 102nd Military Police Battalion is promoted to the rank of Master Sergeant.

Samantha Brodeur from Richland, N.Y. (postal code 13144) and serving with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 102nd Military Police Battalion is promoted to the rank of Private.

Phillip Flora from Oswego, N.Y. (postal code 13126) and serving with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 102nd Military Police Battalion is promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
