As part of a quarterly awards program, Phoenix high school teachers nominated students who demonstrated positive character attributes and leadership qualities since the beginning of the school year.

The honorees were presented with Spark awards certificates and were lauded for igniting the path to greatness.

“(This student) is outstanding; he is compassionate, works diligently with others and still takes a leadership role to ensure that projects get completed and are well done,” one teacher wrote about one of the winners.

Such praise was bestowed upon each nominee, who exceeded expectations on a consistent basis and created a “spark” for others to follow.
