MEXICO, NY – Fresh from a concert at Chimney Corner, Ansted, WVa., and a music festival in Galax, Va., the Fox and Hound bring their mix of original, country, and bluegrass music to Mexico Point Park for a special musical evening at Casey’s Cottage Sept. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m.
The event is hosted by Friends of Mexico Point Park.
The one-time carriage house at Mexico Point Park, off Route 104B, was transformed into an 11th century English manor house by Dr. William Casey and artist Serevin Bischof decades ago, making it the perfect setting for an evening of wine, cheese and music.
According to John Bischof, the artist’s son, “The cottage was a work of love, a place of beauty, friends, companionship and good conversation only.”
The Fox and Hound are better known locally as musical partners Omen Sade (mandolin/vocals) and Mary Ashton Spearen (guitar/vocals).
They will perform music that was part of their street set in Paris, the “City of Light.”
After their stop in Mexico (Sade’s home town), the Fox and Hound will return to Paris for another year of study and performing.
Admission is $10 for Friends of Mexico Point Park and $12 for non-members with the proceeds going to fund the maintenance of Casey’s Cottage.
