The Oswego Girl’s Golf Team ended their 2008 regular season at Wesvale Golf Club. Although they lost the match to West Genesee by a final of 189-221, the team has shown growth and improvement since the start of the season close to two months ago.
Perhaps the biggest improvement has come from Junior Jesse Lalande. Her 56 stroke total was her lowest of the season and a 16-stroke improvement from her first match of the year. She will be looking forward to next year.
Also looking strong for next year is Junior Mariah LaLonde. Mariah was steady toward the end of the season, missing sectional qualifying by just 2 strokes in her final match.
Also showing great improvement this year were Katie Van Wert, Emily Fiorini, Emily Fountain, Rachel Baxter, Carolyn Clemmens, Kristen Hoefer, Savannah Bell and Jules Sheehan.
Mallorie Shannon was the lone Oswego qualifier for next week’s sectionals at Green Lakes State Park. Mallorie will be competing against the best golfers in the section, and she is looking forward to the opportunity to shine.
