Oswego Men’s Softball Results, Monday June 16

MEN’S C – SLOW

CHEAP SEATS 10 CAC PROPERTY MANAGEMENT 1

In addition to Will Dumonts two run homer, Mike Mullen singled and tripled to lead Cheap Seats to a 10 to 1 win over CAC Property Management. Also adding to Cheap Seats offensive production was Kurt Pomerenke who had two singles, Art Brown with two singles and a double, while Tom Woodruff added a two base hit. Bill Ruggio had two hits for CAC Property Management. Jim Higgins picked up the win allowing only 6 hits.

THIRSTY’S 12 CATHY’S WINGS 6

After falling behind by 2 after the first inning, Thirsty’s rallied for a 12 to 6 win over Cathy’s Wings. Leading Thirsty’s with four hits on the night which included a double was Ryan Hawthorn. Sean Damicola and Dom Ritz both had a single and double, while Dave Burger had two hits. Of the 6 hits allowed by Shawn Baldwin, Terry Searles had two and Mike Spicer one which was a double.

MEN’S B – SLOW

GARY’S 16 ALLIANCE 3

In a game ended by the run rule Gary’s defeated Alliance by a score of 16 to 3. Gary’s broke the game open with five runs in the first and five in the second and cruised the rest of the way. For Gary’s Ron Cahill had two home runs and a single, while Josh Flett had two singles and a double. Terry Thompson had three hits for Gary’s. For Alliance Lewis Castor had a triple. Bill Truax had a single and double, while Jaime Potocnik doubled.

SCRIBA TOWN INN 9 CHEAP SEATS 5

Scriba Town Inn defeated Cheap Seats 9 to 5 in recent B-slow pitch action. For Scriba Town Inn, Kevin Luhr had a single and home run. Tom Hammond had a single and double, while Brandon Lagoe had two singles and a double. Scott Dubois had a double, while Shawn Fetterly and John Bugow had two hits each Extra base hits off the Cheap Seats bats were collected by Kevin Slimmer who doubled and homered, Todd Caroccio who doubled and Shawn Caroccio who also doubled. Chris Caroccio, Pete Sweeney and Brian Kurowski had two hits each.

TUESDAY JUNE 17th , 2008

MEN’S D – SLOW

FRONT DOOR 15 LA GRAFF’S 7

After giving up 2 first inning runs, Front Door responded with 7 of their own in the first and never looked back as they defeated La Graff’s Pub by a score of 14 to 7. After Bruce Maynes retired the first two hitters, Bob Garafalo and Joe Salazzo of Front Door both doubled. Salazzo’s hit drove in the first run, who later scored on Mark Sledzoine’s hit. In the bottom of the first Front Door’s Jim Rafter and Bob Straub led off with singles and both scored on Tim Cloonan’s double. After Matt Bacon singled home Cloonan, he scored on Henry Borick’s home run. John Ferry who singled scored on Maynes singles, and Jeff Hoffman who singled scored on Tom Pullens ground out. After La Graff’s threatened with a four run fourth, Front Door responded with three on their own in the fourth. With La Graff’s threatening again in the fifth after scoring one run, with runner on first and second, Harry Darling hit a shot to right with two outs, however Tom Pullen in right center fired a struck to Hoffman at second who caught Joe Kareck leaning toward third for the inning ending out. Leading Front Door going 4 for 4 was Straub. Borick went three four four scored 3 times and drove in 6 runs. Ferry had 3 hits with 2 RBI’s, while Cloonan had 3 hits and 3 RBI’s. Maynes, Pullen, and Bacon had two hits each. Leading La Graff’s with two hits each were Marino, Salazzo, Sledzoine, and Rick Runner. Kareck had three hits.

CHEAP SEATS 35 NINE MILE 8

Cheap Seats scored 28 runs in the bottom half of the first erasing a 3 run deficit and went on to defeat Nine Mile by the mercy rule 35 to 8.

MENS C – FAST

RVP INTERNATIONAL 2 GRACE O’MALLEY’S 1

Allowing Grace O’Malley’s only 4 hits RVP International eked out a 2 to 1 win over Grace O’Malley’s. Grace O’Malley’s took the early lead in the first as John Crawford who singled scored on Chad Raymond’s single. In the 3rd Ed Mahar singles drove home Scott Cannova with the tieing run. RVP International scored the winning run in the top of the fourth as Don Reitz who was hit by a pitch scored on a single by Bill Carney. Both Mahar and Cannova of RVP International along with Scott Sampson and Gary Paricio had two hits each while Shawn Baldwin, Joe Cuyler and Dave Henderson had one hit each. The four hits picked up by Grace O’Malley’s came off the bats of Raymond, John Crawford, Nick Noyes, and Kurt Ferris.

SOUTH FORTY 9 PAUL’S BIG M 7

A four run second and four run third was enough for South 40 to hold off Paul’s Big M 9 to 7. For South 40, who added an insurance run in the sixth, Bill Bosch allowed only 8 hits in picking up the win. Ron March led South 40 with a single, two doubles, and a triple, while Steve Young and John Randell had two hits each. Besides Terry Thompson single and solo inside the park home run, Paul’s Big M was led by Bill Ruggio and Joey Bartosek with two hits each.
