City of Fulton Softball League results for Monday, August 4

6:00 F (M-H) Huhtamaki stormed past Heritage Homes, 15-4.  Heritage Homes scored three runs in the second inning with Huhtamaki tallying five in the bottom of the second to capture the advantage.  Heritage Homes pulled within a run in the third before Huhtamaki erupted for seven more runs.  Shawn Flood socked an inside-the-park grand slam, a RBI single, walked and scored thrice for Huhtamaki, Gerry Tarbell rapped three singles, scored twice and delivered three RBIs as Dan Coant tripled, singled, walked twice, scored once and knocked home three runs.  Ben Gallant stroked three singles and drove in a run for Heritage Homes, Joey HOughtaling smacked an inside-the-park home run and walked while Larry Peterson singled twice and scored once.

7:00 F (M-H) Uniform’s, Etc. won the battle for second place with a 10-1 victory over Yablonski’s Softball.  The teams entered the night tied for second place in the regular season on the final game before play-offs.  Uniform’s, Etc. scored twice in the first inning before adding two more in the fourth.  A six-run fifth by Uniform’s, Etc. led to a ten-run lead as Yablonski’s Softball got on the board with a run in the seventh.  Clark Sponable lined an inside-the-park home run, three singles, scored twice and delivered three RBIs for Uniforms, Etc., Bob Kingsley tripled, singled twice, and drove home a pair of RBIs while Matt Lenhart tripled, doubled and scored twice.  Tim Cloonan singled and drove in the run for Yablonski’s Softball, Matt Bacon scored the run as Aaron Rowan, Steve Yablonski, Mark Mirabito, Vern Svereika and Mark Schmitt each singled.

6:00 D (M-H) Dead End Boyz doubled up Save-A-Lot II in an exciting game, 4-2.  Each team scored once in the second with Save-A-Lot II taking the lead with a run in the fourth.  Dead End Boyz responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth before the defenses throttled the offenses.  Scott Alton singled twice, scored once and drove in two runs for Dead End Boyz, Joe Shue reached base three times and scored twice as Adam Young lined a RBI single.  Andy Alton singled twice and drove in a run for Save-A-Lot II, Luke Alton tripled and scored while Mark Alton scored once and knocked home one.

7:00 D (M-G) Spear downed Wyant Contracting, 14-7.  On the last regular season game, the teams entered the game tied for fourth place with the winner advancing to play-offs.  Spear scored four runs in the first with Wyant Contracting responding with three runs in the home half of the first before Spear tallied five unanswered runs in the second.  The teams repeated their scoring output of the first inning as Spear finished their scoring with a run in the fourth while Wyant Contracting scored one run in the sixth.  Dave Craig smacked a two-run home run, a two run double, a single and scored thrice for Spear, Scott Briglin stroked three singles, scored twice and delivered two RBIs as Nick Tryt doubled twice, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.  Ed Hatten roped four singles and scored once for Wyant Contracting, Josh Mills swatted an inside-the-park home run, singled and scored twice as Kurtis Mills crushed a home run, a single and scored twice.

8:00 D (M-G) J&B Ballers shocked Save-A-Lot, 15-4.  In a preview of next week’s play-off games, third-place J&B Ballers held a two run lead until adding six runs in the fourth while second place Save-A-Lot scored their first three runs in the bottom of the fourth.  John Allen belted a two-run  home run, a RBI single and scored twice for J&B Ballers, Brian Guernsey doubled, singled twice, scored twice and drove in a run as Justin Stevens launched a three-run home run and singled.  Joel Ingison drilled two triples, scored twice and drove in a run for Save-A-Lot, Marty Allen doubled, singled and scored once as Craig Sterling Sr. singled and delivered a pair of RBIs.

9:00 D (M-G) Tractor Supply plowed over Rosie’s Tavern, 17-9.  Despite finishing in last place in the division, Rosie’s Tavern stayed even with the Division Champions through four innings and only trailed by one after five innings.  It wasn’t until Tractor Supply rallied for six runs in the sixth and two in the seventh while holding Rosie’s Tavern to a single run did the champs pull away.  Eric Dempsey smashed an inside-the-park home run, two triples, two singles, scored four runs and drove in three runs for Tractor Supply, Orlo Green blasted a home run, doubled, singled and delivered five RBIs while Craig Westbrook tripled a run home, doubled, singled twice and scored thrice.  Adam Pawlenko tripled, singled twice, scored twice and delivered two RBIs for Rosie’s Tavern, Chris Demars tripled twice, singled, scored and drove in a run as Al Painter tripled, singled, walked, scored twice and knocked in a RBI.
