Force went 7-1 during the week starting with a 4-0 win over the BSA Dirtbags (Virginia), followed by a 6-3 win over the Storm (NY), 10-0 win over LI Nationals (NY), 25-3 win over the South Harlem Reds (NY), 7-5 loss to the Southern Tier Thunder, 5-2 win over NY Nationals (quarter finals), 2-0 win over the Southern Tier Thunder (semi final and a 3-1 win over the Harford Sox (Massachusetts) in the championship game.

The Force 16U extended its season record to 15-3 and captured its second consecutive tournament title.

“It was a great week, we played very well,” said manager Randy Cotton. “The kids wanted this one; we were so close a year ago when we collapsed in the last inning of the championship game. The boys waited a year to get back and finish the job.”

The Force 16U will play local when it continues its summer tournament schedule this week in Baldwinsville, July 30 through August 2.

“People always ask when they can see the team play since the majority of our schedule is hours away. Here is their chance as we will be playing at Baldwinsville High School’s field this week,” Cotton said.

The initial schedule for this week’s tournament is Thursday at 6 p.m., Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m.

The championship round Sunday is TBD after the preliminary games.

The members of the 2015 Cooperstown Baseball World Champion Fulton Force 16U are: Adam Baldwin, Frank Barbagallo, Nolan Bonnie, Taber Carter, Will Caster, Cameron Clark, Jonathan Combes, Cole Cotton, Bryce Guernsey and Malcolm Wettering.
