TROY, NY – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its annual All-Academic Team award and Rensselaer Polytechnic Student student-athlete Mary West was among the award winners.
To earn that distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and finish in the top 25 percent at their respective regional.
A junior, West (G. Ray Bodley High School) was All-Region following her 28th place finish at Regionals.
An All-Liberty League Second Team member, she was 174th at the NCAA Meet, joining her teammates in helping the Engineers to ninth place in the nation – the best in school history.
West is a biochemistry and biophysics major.
RPI’s women’s team, which won the Liberty League Championship, had 15 of 22 student-athletes earn Dean’s List recognition in the fall semester.
Fourteen members had a 3.50 or better, including two with perfect 4.0s.
Ten were selected to the Liberty League All-Academic team.
