Oswego captured its third win in seven outings this year as the girls’ varsity tennis team gained a 7-0 decision over Nottingham.
Coach Andrea DeSantis said, “There was excellent team play today. The girls have been working very hard and it is rewarding to get a victory for everyone on the team.”
In first singles Jesse Lalande defeated Angela Sponsler 6-1, 6-3 while second singles Dominique Canale defeated Margaret Boateng 6-3, 6-0. Lauren Usherwood earned a 6-1, 6-3 verdict over Sandra Aigyepong to complete the singles action.
Jillian Doty and marissa Canale defeated Ana Thor and Amrita Stutzle 6-3, 6-4 while Lindsay Rose and Chandler Caroccio defeated China Agnew and Katharina Stein 6-1, 6-4. Mariah LaLonde and Brennan Banta defeated Veronica Lewis and Tarea Corriders 6-2, 7-6 while Meghan Kelly and Chelsea Geroux defeated Rylah Orr and Katie Gaffney 6-2, 6-0.
In exhibiton Chelsee Brockwell defeated ashley Barkley 8-4 in a pro-set while Maggie McCloskey and Alison Knight won 8-1 in a pro set over Rylah Orr and Katie Gaffney.
