It was another impressive outing for the Lady Bucs varsity girls’ soccer team as they battled Auburn (6-1) to a 2-2 tie.
Coach Brian Greene said, “They seem to be playing a better brand of soccer over the last few games and this young team is starting to gel at the right time.”
After a scoreless first half, Auburn struck first midway through the second half as Jen Fox scored for the Maroons. Oswego rallied as Amber Earl fed a beautiful through ball to Amanda D’Amico who finished the breakaway goal. Oswego was able to control the pace of the game throughout the second half.
Tied 1-1 after regulation, Oswego struck first in overtime as Amanda D’Amico scored a tremendous goal in the upper left corner on a pass from Nicole Paulhardt. With only two minutes to play in the second overtime Auburn answered by finishing off a corner kick to knot the game at 2-2.
Leah Folgherait finished with nine saves and a another strong game in net.
The Bucs play next at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday versus North Rose-Wolcott on the Turrill Street Field.
