Brockport, N.Y. – The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team jumped out to an early lead and shut out The College at Brockport Golden Eagles 4-0 in a SUNYAC contest on the road Saturday night.
Dylan Smith scored the first goal for the Lakers, capitalizing on an assist from Beau Orser and Matt Galati at 9:43 in the first.
Galati would add to the lead 10 minutes later, scoring at 19:15. Smith and Bobby Gertakis assisted Galati with the score.
Oswego held a 2-0 lead well into the second period. Chris Raguseo made it a 3-0 game after David Titanic fed him the puck 14:45 into the period.
Mac Scott scored the final goal of the game with an assist from Smith and Galati, making the score 4-0 at 13:36 in the third period.
Oswego won 36-of-59 face-offs in the game. The team ended the game with 26 shots, and goalie Matt Zawadzki out-saved Brockport’s goalie 26-22 to move to 2-0-0 in net this season.
The Lakers will play again when they return home for White Out Weekend Dec. 6 and Dec. 7. They will take on SUNY Potsdam at 7 p.m. on Friday and SUNY Plattsburgh at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
