The following notice has been posted for Lake Ontario waters:

Remember the area around the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Facility is off limits to boating. The restricted area stretches 1,000 yards offshore and extends from the Alcan plant to the Sunset Bay area along Lake Ontario, east of the city of Oswego.

The following notice has been posted for the Oswego River:

Due to the construction of the NYS Rte. 104 bridge, certain areas of the Oswego River will be restricted to boat traffic. Please watch for signs and buoys.

Oswego River report:

According to Larry Muroski of Larry’s Oswego Salmon Shop:

The water level in the river has been as low as 1500cfs and as high as 6500cfs since Friday. As of Monday afternoon it has settled to about 3,000cfs. Bass are still active throughout the river with crayfish being the top choice for bait. Anglers are also finding some good bass action along the breakwall. Carp are active taking corn and dough bait. Some panfish remain active near the Marine Museum and Coast Guard Station with worms and minnows being good choices.

Lake Ontario report:

According to Capt. Troy Creasy of High Adventure Sportfishing Charters:

From Mexico Bay to Oswego, good numbers of plump healthy brown trout are being found in 70 to 100 ft. of water. Catches of 10 to 20 fish a trip have been reported by many captains in the past week. A full spread of NK and Dreamweaver spoons in black and silver, glow green and chartreuse will work well. Saturday my party landed 17 browns in 8 hours and Sunday we landed 10 in 6 hours. That is really good trout fishing anywhere you go! King salmon are still scarce as was evident in the recent ProAm tournaments. You may find a handful one day but they are gone the next.

Mexico Bay report:

According to Capt. Gerry Bresadola of B&B Sportfishing Charters:

There has been a healthy brown trout bite east of Nine Mile extending to Sithe 5 Pipes. Stimgers and Evil Eyes have been producing. There are plenty of boats fishing browns. Know why? It’s because the kings are few and far between right now. We need some bait and the big guys will follow. Bass fishing has been good with your basic night crawler set up doing the job.

Salmon River/Pulaski area report:

According to Dave Wood of Woody’s Tackle:

The bass and northern pike bite in the estuary is still good especially late at night.

On Lake Ontario, the fishing has been a bit inconsistent due to the changing weather patterns. There is good salmon fishing when they are here with flies and flashers working well. Look in 200-400 ft. of water down 85-90 ft. Brown trout continue to be active in 120 ft. of water with flies and spoons good choices of bait. Bass fishing is fair to good in Mexico with some nice size fish being caught. Look for perch action in the bay in 6-7 ft. of water off stone structures and along grass beds.

Oneida Lake Report:

According to Capt. Troy Creasy of High Adventure Sportfishing Charters:

Oneida Lake anglers are continuing to do very well with walleye and bass. The deep and shallow water are both producing. Shackelton Shoals, Dutchman’s Bar and Lewis Point have been especially active.

Sandy Pond Report:

According to Capt. Troy Creasy of High Adventure Sportfishing Charters:

There has been some bass and northern pike action on Sandy pond and Lakeview Marsh, especially along the weed lines. Cast spinnerbaits, rubberworms, small crankbaits and of course don’t forget the jitterbugs and buzzbaits for some hot top water action.
