Wednesday night, sophomore Megan Brown earned her 100th strikeout of the season, bringing the total up to 106 this season, as the Lady Firebirds ended Marcellus’s 10-game winning streak with a 4-3 win.
The pitching-catching team of Brown and senior catcher Casey Wegner, dominated the game with 9 strikeouts.
There was powerful hitting from the entire team. Offensively, senior center fielder Meghan Barry, who will be playing next year for Nazareth, went 3-4 with 2 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. Defensively, great plays were made by Kim Holbrook, Megan Brown, Meghan Barry and Sydney Patzke.
The ladies will take on Westhill home on Thursday and they round out the regular season on Friday against Cazenovia.
