CANTON, N.Y. – The Oswego State men’s soccer team hit the road for the first time this season on Friday and settled for their first loss of the year thanks to a late first-half goal by SUNY-Canton, earning the Kangaroos a 1-0 win.
The Lakers (2-1) had six shots on goal, including three from Bryan Paccahiana (Sr., Cortlandt Manor, NY), who saw action for the first time this season.
The Roos (1-4) had just four shots on goal, but out-shot the Lakers 12-6 overall.
Francesco Cardillo scored the game-winner with just over a minute left in the first half. Laker goalkeeper P.J. Goodwin[1] (Sr., Baldwinsville, N.Y.) kept the visitors in the game the rest of the way with his three saves, but the offense could not muster a goal.
The Lakers will be back at home on Saturday, September 10 when they host Nazareth (2-0) at 4 p.m. at Laker Field.
