Ward Named SUNYAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Hayden Ward (Montauk, N.Y.), a senior on the men’s basketball team, has been named the SUNYAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 9 after leading the Lakers to two single-digit wins. Ward also received this honor last week.
Ward averaged 24.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in a pair of Oswego State road wins over Brockport and Ithaca.
Ward scored 27 points at Brockport with the biggest three points coming in the final seconds. He completed an old-fashioned three-point play that gave the Lakers a one-point lead.
Ward followed that performance with a double-double (22 points and 11 rebounds) against 2011-12 NCAA qualifier Ithaca on Saturday.
