West Helps RPI Women’s Cross-Country to NCAA Championship

TROY, NY — Mary West of Oswego is a member of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute cross-country team that has been selected to participate in the NCAA Championship Meet as an at-large selection.

The national championship will be held on Saturday at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky.

The women’s race begins at 11 a.m.

The Engineers, who are coached by John Lynch, are ranked ninth in the nation, according to the latest USTFCCCA NCAA Division III National Coaches’ Poll.

RPI competed in seven meets this year and have not finished outside the top 10.

It has two victories, one runner-up and two third place finishes, including on Saturday at the Atlantic Regional.

Their wins came at the Saratoga Invitational on October 1 and at the Liberty League Championship Meet on October 29.
