MEXICO, NY – Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County is pleased to bring dairy farmers in the area the 2014 edition of the Spring Dairy Managers Meeting.
It will take place on March 24 at the Oswego County Federal Credit Union Community Room, located at 5828 Scenic Ave. (Route 3) in Mexico.
The cost to attend is $15 and includes lunch.
The program will begin at 10:30 a.m. and run until 2:30 p.m.
From milk quality to profitability to robotic milking systems, this wide-ranging program will offer practical ideas for dairy farmers to stay afloat in the tough times and capitalize when milk prices are good.
Pre-registration is required and must be done by March 20.

10:30 a.m. – Jessica C. Scillieri Smith, DVM, Extension Veterinarian, Quality Milk – will discuss milk quality and seasonal changes
11:30 a.m. – Betsey L. Howland, Cornell PRO-DAIRY Program, Dairy Profit Monitor – will discuss financial record keeping and profitability
12:30 p.m. – Lunch – provided
1:30 p.m. – Kathy Barrett, Cornell PRO-DAIRY Program – will present about robotic milking systems and when these kinds of systems are a good choice for producers and how to manage them
