Behavior is a powerful form of communication and is one of the primary ways for people with dementia to communicate their needs and feelings as the ability to use language is lost. However, some behaviors can present real challenges for caregivers to manage.

Join us to learn to decode behavioral messages, identify common behavior triggers, and learn strategies to help intervene with some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease.

To register for the “Understanding and Responding to Dementia-related Behaviors” workshop, please call the Alzheimer’s Association at (315) 472-4201 extension 100, or St. Francis Commons at (315) 326-0870.

Upcoming programs in the series provided by the Alzheimer’s Association of Central New York and hosted at St. Francis Commons in Oswego include; “Legal and Financial Planning” on August 16 and “Dementia Conversations” on September 14.

All programs in the series are free of charge and open to the public.
