OSWEGO – More than 80 volunteers from St. Luke Health Services gathered in the Riverview Room Thursday at St. Luke for a luncheon hosted in their honor. The theme for the event, “Thanks For The Memories” acknowledged the many contributions volunteers of all ages make on behalf of St. Luke residents throughout the year.
“We are grateful for all the time and talents our volunteers offer our residents,” said Volunteer Coordinator Deb Robillard. “Our annual volunteer recognition luncheon is just a small way we as an organization say “thank you” for their tremendous contributions and the memories they create along the way.”
In addition to a wonderful meal prepared by St. Luke’s culinary staff, entertainer Joe Trionfero had those in attendance laughing, singing and even dancing. The activities department joined in with their own song and dance tribute to the volunteers with a revised rendition of the song, “Thanks for the Memory.”
“St. Luke is blessed to count more than one hundred volunteers of all ages and many community groups who bring their unique talents and skill together to enhance the quality of life that our residents experience. Our volunteers are always ready to jump in to help in any way they can, making all of the activities and outings St. Luke offers even more fun,” said Robillard. “Most importantly, they become treasured friends and families to our residents.”
Robillard noted that last year alone St. Luke volunteers of from the ages of 12 to 96 contributed literally thousands of hours of their time, participating in hundreds of programs and activities.
“Our volunteers at St. Luke can give of their time as often as they like. Our program is flexible enough to accommodate a varied of schedules, and many people who inquire are surprised at the number of opportunities and activities we have available,” said Robillard.
