OSWEGO, NY – Stanley J. Segal, 91, a resident of Clark Street, Oswego, passed away Monday February 27, 2012, at Morningstar Nursing Home.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Stanley and Sophia Sczygiel.
Stanley was a State University of New York at Oswego graduate of 1942, and an Army Air Corps veteran from 1942-45.
He was employed as a caseworker for Oswego County.
He served as deputy commissioner of the Oswego Welfare Department and child protective caseworker for Oswego County, retiring in 1979.
Stanley enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Oswego and Fulton Polish club and past member of the Oswego Lions’ club.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandy Tremain of Indiana and Linda Bradshaw of Oswego; a son, Stanley (Linda) Segal of Oswego; four grandchildren, Michael, David, Timothy Bradshaw and Kristen Segal; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Tucker) Segal; and sisters, Jennie Lisk, Josie Michalski and Mary Nelson.
Services and burial will be held privately, at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
