State Police Investigate Crash in Town of Schroeppel

FULTON, NY – At approximately 12:43 p.m. today (Jan. 15), State Police in Fulton were dispatched to County Route 57A in the town of Schroeppel for a two-car personal injury auto accident.

Investigation revealed a 2006 Subaru, driven by Adam O. Dix, age 28, from Phoenix, was traveling southbound on County Route 57A in the town of Schroeppel when he allegedly failed to keep right and crossed the double solid line into the northbound lane striking a town of Schroeppel Highway Department truck.

Mr. Dix was extricated from his vehicle and subsequently air lifted by Mercy Flight to University Hospital in Syracuse.

He is currently listed in critical condition due to severe bone fractures, troopers said.

The operator of the highway truck, David R. Pendergast, age 61, from Phoenix, didn’t suffer any injuries, according to the report.

The Troop D Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit (CVEU) and Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) responded to the scene.

Investigation is continuing.
