State Police Investigate One-Car Crash In Hannibal

HANNIBAL – State Police in Fulton are investigating a one-car crash that occurred around 10:30 a.m. today (April 23) on 66 road in the town of Hannibal.

Investigation revealed that Nicole E. Smith, 23 from Fulton, was operating her 2007 Toyota Yaris north on 66 road when she drifted across the center of the roadway and struck a guardrail on the Sterling Valley Creek bridge.

The vehicle then struck a tree where the vehicle came to rest.

Smith was transported to SUNY Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse by Life-net Helicopter and is listed in critical condition.

A 5-year-old child passenger was uninjured in the crash.

The investigation is continuing.
