State Police Seek Public Assistance With Locating Escapee

Joshua J. Heady was located this morning (Nov. 15) by members of the Syracuse Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service in the city of Syracuse.

He is now lodged at the Oswego County Public Safety Building on $5,000 cash/ $10,000 bond.


State Police, along with the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Village of Central Square Police Department with locating 24-year-old Joshua James Heady from Avery Avenue in Syracuse.

He escaped from police custody around 3 p.m. today (Nov. 14).

Heady is described as being 5’4″ tall, 120 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Heady was at the Central Square Police Station being processed for a petty larceny charge when he ran from custody.

He was last seen in the area of their police station on State Route 49 wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and a black hoodie.

He was handcuffed at the time of escape.
