OSWEGO, NY – At approximately 2 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 27), New York State Police in Fulton responded to 164 City Line Road in the town of Scriba for a report of a man with a stab wound to the neck.
The investigation determined that the victim, Daryl M. Graddy, (10/09/77), was stabbed once in the neck with a kitchen knife while he was within a vehicle that had become disabled in the ditch on City Line Road in the town of Scriba.
The stabbing allegedly occurred subsequent to a prior argument and physical altercation between the victim and the suspect, who is identified as James P. Gibeau, (01/31/1981), of 289 County Route 29, Lot 13, Oswego, NY.
Gibeau was arrested by troopers and charged with one count of first-degree assault (Class B Felony) and one count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (Class D Felony).
He was arraigned in the Town of Volney Court and remanded to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond with a future return court date in the Town of Scriba Court.
The State Police were assisted at the scene by the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department, the Oswego City Ambulance, and the Scriba Volunteer Fire Department.
