OSWEGO, NY – For the first time in Oswego Kartway history, the karts and stars of the New York Dirt Kart Series will take on the unique ‘Bullring’ located directly behind Oswego Speedway, for an all-out state series event pitting the best travelling kart racers in New York against the Kartway’s stellar local contingent on July 30.
The NYDKS spans five different facilities across all corners of the state of New York, bringing with it 10 different racing divisions, and an average of more than 150 competitors.
Oswego Kartway’s local schedule includes 16 races of its own, at an average of over 100 competitors per event weekly, making for a one of a kind matchup and partnership this summer.
“Everyone associated with Oswego Kartway is excited to welcome the NYDKS to Oswego,” said Kartway PR representative Dan Kapuscinski. “Shawn Jeffrey has been great to work with as far as setting logistics to this point and we believe this event could be record setting for all parties. With the tremendous following that the NYDKS brings to each venue, coupled with our outstanding weekly support, we believe this will be an event talked about for many years to come in the state of New York.”
Top adult racers Brad Duhow, Tom Dawson, Brian Knox and Matthew Veihdeffer all claimed championships a year ago on the state series trail with Eric Veihdeffer, Blake Matjoulis, Dylan Duhow and Jacob Bansmer snagging junior titles.
Couple those champions with other travelling standouts such as Tim Lotz, Dan Marsden, Colin Spatorico, Jason Moll, Ryan Swartz, Dalton Slack, Derrick McGrew and more, and fans will be served a treat this Harborfest weekend when they do battle with the local Kartway champions as they attempt to defend their home turf against the NYDKS invaders.
NYDKS racing divisions include Jr. Red Clone, Jr. Blue Clone, Jr. Purple Clone, Senior Clone Lite, Senior Clone Heavy, and Super Heavy Clone, all of which contend for yearlong points.
The other four divisions on the series are PRO divisions contending for weekly monetary awards including Pro Purple Clone, Pro Blue Clone, Semi Pro Clone, and Pro Clone.
All divisions in the NYDKS format will time trial for feature starting positions.
A rain date of July 31 is in place for the event.
More specific event details, including start times, will be announced in the coming weeks.
