OSWEGO, NY – US Representative Elise Stefanik today (Nov. 2) endorsed William “Billy” Barlow of Oswego for mayor of his home city.
Barlow is a 25-year-old mayoral candidate and will appear on tomorrow’s ballot on the Republican, Conservative, Independence and Reform Party lines.
“I have followed this race closely and believe Billy is the best candidate for the job of Mayor of Oswego,” said Stefanik. “Much like the 21st Congressional District, the importance of Fort Drum and a focus on economic development are issues important to the Oswego area. Billy Barlow has demonstrated throughout his campaign that he understands these issues. We need more young people with Billy’s energy and fresh ideas in public service. I am happy to endorse Billy for Mayor of Oswego and believe he will represent the citizens of Oswego proudly.”
Barlow operates his own small business based in Oswego that was started by his family more than 30 years ago. After returning from college at Arizona State where he expanded his family business to Arizona, he returned home and now has successfully introduced his business to western New York.
“It’s truly an honor to have Congresswoman Stefanik’s endorsement. She is a passionate advocate for young people and an inspiration to me,” said Barlow. “I look forward to Tuesday and getting to work for the people of Oswego on January 1 as mayor of the Port City.”
Polls are open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
