Pulaski, NY – The Step By Step Wellness Program invites community members in the greater Pulaski area to visit their outreach program. Located inside Christ Our Light Church, 23 Niagara St., the Step By Step Wellness Program serves adults diagnosed with a mental illness with a variety of programming to help with their recovery.
Provided through Catholic Charities of Oswego County, the Step By Step Wellness Program uses a wellness recovery model that supports clients with their recovery, promotes wellness, and combats the stigma of mental illness.
Various program offerings help individuals increase their self-esteem, establish group affiliations, and maintain independence in the community.
While the Step By Step Wellness Program in based in Fulton, its Outreach Program brings the benefits of the program to other locations in Oswego County. Pulaski is the first community in which the Outreach Program has been established.
“We are happy to be able to offer the Step By Step Wellness Program in the northern part of Oswego County,” said Step By Step Wellness program Coordinator, Pam Peeling. “We welcome adults diagnosed with a mental illness to join us each Monday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Christ Our Light Church in Pulaski to learn more about how the Step By Step Wellness Program can benefit them by helping to improve the quality of their life. For those in the outlying areas we are happy to assist them in finding the necessary transportation.”
The Step By Step Wellness Outreach Program offers a range of components to assist clients with their recovery from a mental illness including; prevocational services, supported educational services, peer supports & advocacy, and assistance in individual goal planning and achievement.
Catholic Charities of Oswego County serves all people in need regardless of their religious affiliation. Primary funding sources for Catholic Charities of Oswego County programs are the United Way of Greater Oswego County, the Diocesan Hope Appeal, the County of Oswego and private donations by individuals and local companies and organizations.
