Strength and Conditioning In OMS Spotlight

Oswego Middle School students recently started performing feats of strength as technology teacher Jason Bauer has instituted a new program.

The OMS Boys’ Athletic Association Club had taken on an entirely new persona.

Bauer said, “When spring weather finally arrived both boys and girls kicked it off with an outdoor boot camp training club. Students cycle through intense drills for 30 minutes.”

There are numerous “stations” including drills of tire flipping, tire pulls, barbell presses, plate presses, speed and agility drills and much more.

Bauer said, “I am impressed with the hard work and the dedication the students have displayed thus far. They push themselves to their full potential, striving to get more flips, more reps and run faster with every cycle.”

He also noted that he would like to kick off a summer of physical training for the students and feels that this is extremely beneficial to their fitness, both mentally and physically.
