Students Have a Blast at Camp Zerbe

The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Junior High School end-of-the-year outing to Camp Zerbe Nature Park proved to the perfect opportunity to have a real ‘blast’ in the great outdoors.

Mr. Lee pumps air into a soda bottle. The pressure within the bottle builds with each pump until it reaches its reaction mass and propels into the air.

Students played tether ball, volleyball, soccer, football, kickball, basketball, Frisbee, and launched soda bottle rockets.

Students in Nicholas Lee’s seventh grade science class learn about motion, forces and energy during the school year.

Launching the rockets gave students the perfect opportunity to see how much fun Newton’s Third Law of Motion can be.
