SUNY Oswego Center for Nonprofit Excellence Announces its First Offering

The SUNY Oswego Office of Business and Community Relations is pleased to announce the first offering for the Center for Nonprofit Excellence. The Center for Nonprofit Excellence is a new program of SUNY Oswego, which has been providing technical assistance and services to nonprofits for the past 17 years through its Leadership Oswego County Program and Community Relations activities. SUNY Oswego has recognized the expanding needs of the nonprofit sector, and hopes to address them with the Center offerings at its Oswego Campus, Phoenix Education Center and Metro Center in Downtown Syracuse at the Atrium, along with other locations around Central New York.

The first program is the CEO Retreat, targeted at nonprofit Chief Executive Officers and upper management, and focuses on topics that can be used today. Topics explored will be; The state of Nonprofits Today, Board – CEO Relationship, Fund Raising and Development, Organizational and Public Relations, Succession Planning, Financials, Coaching and Mentoring. Additionally, participants will conduct research on current nonprofit management issues and present to their peers as part of the program.

The CEO Retreat, Oswego Session, will start February 10, 2010 and meet every other 2nd Wednesday of the month until December, from 8:00am to Noon, in Rich Hall at SUNY Oswego.
