The SUNY Oswego Metro Center in Syracuse will host an open house 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, for people interested in learning more about part-time study, online options or graduate programs.
The free event will take place at the Metro Center in downtown Syracuse at the Atrium at 2 Clinton Square.
A special session at 5 p.m. will offer information about the Master of Science in Teaching program, a 15-month graduate program that enables people with an undergraduate degree in anything other than education to become a certified teacher with the state Education Department.
Those attending the Metro Center open house can speak with advisers and ask questions about the application process, deadlines, program requirements, scholarships and more. Refreshments will be provided. Those interested in attending should RSVP by calling 315-399-4100.
SUNY Oswego offers evening degree programs, online programs and over 25 graduate programs, in addition to its more than 100 undergraduate programs. Graduate students can also choose from an array of new certificate programs including play therapy, educational leadership, integrated media and social networks, gerontology and, coming up, health information technology and integrated health systems.
Courses are offered at the Metro Center, the SUNY Oswego Phoenix Center off State Route 481 in Phoenix, online and at the college’s main campus in Oswego.
SUNY Oswego, accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges, has four academic divisions: the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; the AACSB-accredited School of Business; the NCATE-accredited School of Education; and the School of Communication, Media and the Arts.
