OSWEGO — Registration has opened for SUNY Oswego’s summer sessions.
The college’s first of four summer sessions will begin May 21. Classes cover a variety of instructional areas and are open to the public.
Although the majority of individuals taking summer session courses at SUNY Oswego attend the college year-round, about 15 percent of those enrolled typically are students at other colleges who then transfer the credits they earn at Oswego to their own colleges, administrators said.
“It’s a great opportunity for students living at home for the summer but who still want an opportunity to earn college credit,” said Tom Ingram, director of academic programs for the SUNY Oswego Division of Extended Learning.
In addition to more than 100 courses to be conducted online, SUNY Oswego is offering graduate and undergraduate courses at its lakeside campus in Oswego, as well as at the SUNY Oswego Metro Center in downtown Syracuse and the SUNY Oswego Phoenix Center off I-481 in Phoenix.
The college has three other summer sessions, starting June 11, July 2 and July 23.
