OSWEGO — SUNY Oswego’s sociology department will host the college’s fourth annual Sportsmanship Day Symposium on March 1.
The multidisciplinary look at sportsmanship, in conjunction with National Sportsmanship Day, will run from 2:20 to 5:15 p.m. in Room 105 of Lanigan Hall.
Speakers from five disciplines will discuss sportsmanship from the perspective of their respective fields, said event coordinator Tim Delaney, associate professor and chair of sociology. A number of student-athletes and other students will also give presentations on sportsmanship from their own life experiences, from varsity sports to roller derby.
Faculty, students and staff are welcome to present their own ideas on sportsmanship and should contact Delaney at [email protected] or 312.3410 by Feb. 22 if they wish to be added to the program.
The event is free and open to the public.
