OSWEGO — SUNY Oswego will offer preparatory courses for the Graduate Management Admissions Test and the Graduate Record Examination on Saturdays beginning Sept. 7 at the college’s Metro Center in downtown Syracuse.
“The first step to enrolling in a graduate program is preparing for an entrance exam,” said Dan Bacich, SUNY Oswego’s trainer. “The scores from these tests are used as a predictor of success, and scoring well on them will influence which graduate programs and schools you may attend.”
Both “cram courses,” designed to enhance student preparedness and test-taking abilities, will cover test format and content, preparation and test-taking strategies, and face-to-face instruction with the opportunity to ask questions and receive individualized attention to help students improve skills in problem areas.
Students also will be given the opportunity to practice test-taking using actual GMAT questions from previous tests. All course materials are included in the registration fee.
The GMAT sessions will take place 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 7, 14 and 21 for mathematics, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 25, Oct. 5 and 12 for verbal.
The GRE sessions will take place 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 7 and 14 and 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 21 for quantitative, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 28 and Oct. 5 and 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 12 for verbal/analytical writing.
The cost to attend any one three-day GMAT or GRE session is $175; registration for both sessions of either the GMAT or GRE cram courses cost a discounted rate of $325. SUNY Oswego students and alumni receive additional discount offers.
The cram courses are offered in the spring, summer and fall. To learn more or to register, visit oswego.edu/gmat or oswego.edu/gre, or call the SUNY Oswego Metro Center, 2 Clinton Square, at 315-399-4100.
