SUNY Potsdam Awards Scholarships to Area Undergraduates, Graduate Students


POTSDAM, NY – The State University of New York at Potsdam has awarded scholarships, grants and awards to 1,047 students for the 2013-14 academic year.

These accomplished SUNY Potsdam undergraduate and graduate students were recognized for their achievements with support for their educational experience.

The scholarship recipients included:

Lauren Carlisle of Central Square, NY, whose major is Music Education. Carlisle was awarded the Crane School of Music Scholarship.

Cassandra Chase of Central Square, NY, whose major is Liberal Arts. Chase was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship.

Morgan Frederick of Parish, NY, whose major is English & Creative Writing. Frederick was awarded the Max W. Templeton Memorial Scholarship.

Chloe Grab of Fair Haven, NY, whose major is Childhood/Early Childhood Education. Grab was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship.

Christopher Halsey of Mexico, NY, whose major is Mathematics. Halsey was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship.

Steven Hill of Oswego, NY, whose major is Liberal Arts. Hill was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship.

Marissa Johnson of Pulaski, NY, whose major is Special Education (Master of Science in Education). Johnson was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Graduate Scholarship.

Joseph Locci of Parish, NY, whose major is Environmental Studies. Locci was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship.

Victoria Metcalf of Lacona, NY, whose major is Psychology. Metcalf was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Transfer Scholarship.

Haley Noel of Fulton, NY, whose major is Art Studio. Noel was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship.

Karly Rieth of Phoenix, NY, whose major is Music Education. Rieth was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Transfer Scholarship.

Jordan Smith of Richland, NY, whose major is Biology. Smith was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Transfer Scholarship.

Stephanie Warner of Sandy Creek, NY, whose major is Childhood/Early Childhood Education. Warner was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship.

Hayley Webb of Central Square, NY, whose major is Liberal Arts. Webb was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship.

Gina Weston of Central Square, NY, whose major is Curriculum & Instruction (Master of Science in Education). Weston was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Graduate Scholarship.

Marcus Wolf of Oswego, NY, whose major is English & Creative Writing. Wolf was awarded the SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship.

Last year, SUNY Potsdam awarded $2,341,095 in scholarships to 990 students, including $676,400 from donor-funded scholarships through the Potsdam College Foundation.
