Fulton, NY – Catholic Charities of Oswego County invites area youth to stop in to its CYO program on February 21 for a special meet and greet with players from the AHL Syracuse Crunch hockey team from 3 to 4 p.m.
Players will meet fans, sign autographs and spend some time interacting with area youth.
“It’s exciting to be able to bring these Syracuse Crunch players to our CYO program,” said coordinator George Timmins. “It provides CYO participants with a rare opportunity to spend time with professional hockey players in a relaxed, fun-filled atmosphere. We are very appreciative of the Syracuse Crunch hockey team and the players for graciously choosing to share their time with us. We’re looking forward to welcoming area youth and letting them know about the great things that are happening here at CYO.”
The appearance by the Syracuse Crunch players is one of the highlights of CYO’s winter break schedule, February 18 – 25.
The CYO program offers extended hours and a week full of special activities including a fun fitness day, movie day, and a mural painting day.
There will also be full access to the CYO gym, game room, and arts and crafts room.
“Winter break is a great time for youth of all ages to stop in and see what the CYO program is all about and many activities that are available to participate in. For a complete schedule of CYO winter break and day-to-day activities check with any CYO staff member or check out our communication board as you enter our facility, or contact at me 315-598-3980 ext. 254,” added Timmins.
The CYO program, funded in part by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services through the Oswego City / County Youth Bureau, has designed a variety of activities to aid in the recreational development of youth in Fulton, as well as the surrounding communities of Oswego County.
All activities are free of charge and are supervised by a trained staff.
Regular hours for CYO are Monday through Friday 3 – 7 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for grades 2 – 12.
