Wreaths Across America (WAA) is proud to announce participation in a historic three-day event taking place in Washington D.C., May 11-13, on the National Mall, as part of the 50th Anniversary of The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration (VWC). The VWC will be hosting a multi-location event: “Welcome Home! A Nation Honors our Vietnam Veterans and Their Families.”  This interactive, immersive experience will feature over 90 participating organizations, and is open to the public. OCO Raises $20,000 While Celebrating Being ‘Fifty and Fabulous’

The theme for this year’s annual Bowl-A-Fun OCO Fundraiser: “Fifty and Fabulous.” With George Hoffman from The Dinosaur 95.3 as emcee for the day, the event kicked off at Lakeview Lanes and provided food, drinks, cake, live entertainment, raffles and lots of fun. Different from previous years, the bowlers only competed in one flight of bowling and while the second flight usually competes, OCO instead hosted a 50th anniversary celebration open to the public who picked up a free ticket ahead of time.

Oswego County Opportunities Celebrates 50 Years of Service

Oswego County Opportunities celebrates 50 years of service to the Oswego County community, providing 22,000 people each year with more than 60 different programs aimed at serving their mission to, “Inspire partnerships and provide services that empower people, support communities, and change lives.” Currently, OCO is within the top six private employers in Oswego County with more than 650 employees and 1200 volunteers working to provide over 60 programs for educational services, crisis and development services, health and nutritional services, transportation services, and residential services with over 80 sites throughout the county. The evolution over 50 years has shown exponential growth and need for services, as exemplified by the rapid advancement of programs offered, sites available to deliver programs and employees needed to maintain adequate services.
