Amy Quonce is in the process of compiling stories from people in Upstate New York whose lives have been affected by an individual with a disability. These stories are going to be in an anthology that is going to press on Nov. 6. The anticipated released date for this book is the beginning of December.
After picking up a copy of Chicken Soup for the Special Needs Soul, she was inspired to do a similar anthology based on the lives of people in Upstate New York. She hopes to get stories and poems from caregivers, family members and especially from the individuals themselves on how their life has been affected by a disability.
The final chapter of Amy Quonce’s book will be written at the end of this week. It covers how her family was affected after her developmentally disabled daughter was abused. The book’s focus is on the aftermath and not on the abuse itself. She will attend The Clean Slate Diaries on Saturday; the event will recognize and honor victims of rape, incest and domestic violence.
