Nativity Scene Will Come Alive In Baldwinsville

The stable where Jesus Christ was born is one of the places visitors will see during this year's Live Nativity at First United Methodist Church in Baldwinsville. Last year, some of those watching over the newborn baby were (from left) "shepherd" Barbara Derby and her sheep, along with "angels" Molly Derby, Allie Derby and Kyra Phelps. The outdoor event, regardless of the weather, is 3 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at the church, 17 W. Genesee St. It is free and open to the public and includes the Caroling Cafe, inside the church, featuring live Christmas music and refreshments.Using the Christmas story as it is told in the Biblical gospels of Matthew and Luke, the church’s Live Nativity will appeal to those familiar with the Christmas story as well as those who may be seeing and hearing it for the first time. The reenactment will take place outside the church, regardless of the weather.
